PRIMR Abstract Submissions

Submission Tracks and Formats
The Disaster PRIMR 2021 welcomes submissions from all academic and non-academic fields that focus on the following categories:
- Preparedness for Disasters
- Mitigation of Disasters
- Response to Disasters
- Recovery from Disasters
- Innovation and Problem Solving in Disaster's Preparedness, Mitigation, Response and Recovery
Submissions will be on these particular tracks to help and manage the review process. Within each thematic track, authors can choose one of the following formats. We encourage unique presentation styles, activities, workshops and discussions. The Conference Program Committee reserves the right to reclassify submissions based on reviewers’ comments.
Suggested formats include:
- Individual Presentations
- Panel Sessions
- Professional Development Workshop
- Posters & Flyer Session
- Other (Community Conversations, Voices from the Grassroots etc…)
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must comply with the guidelines outlined in this document to be reviewed for inclusion in the conference. Any submissions that are not in compliance will not be reviewed and/or accepted.
Formatting Guidelines
- Summary, up to 250 words, providing a general idea of what will be covered.
- No citations or references are required.
- Up to one figure/table/photo is permitted.
- An author can be named on no more than three submissions, regardless of the author order.
Presentation Schedule
At least one author on the submission must be able to present at any time during the conference (11 a.m. until 4 p.m. February 1-4, 2020). The presentation schedule, as well as presentation guidelines, will be available on the conference website approximately six weeks before the conference.
Poster/Flyer Preparation
Please prepare all materials in advance and submit it in a PDF format and a video file up to 2 minutes in length of your presentation on the poster/flyer. If selected for presentation, the deadline for final poster/flyer submission is January 20, 2021.
Design Considerations
- Be creative! We encourage unique presentation styles, activities, workshops and discussions.
- Remember this is a virtual environment with people from multiple sectors. We ask that you avoid jargon and acronyms in all written materials.
- Consider access and functional needs when developing visual and recorded materials. Closed captioning and easily viewed fonts and colors are recommended.
Special Issue Opportunity
If the authors wish to submit a manuscript to the special issue, please select the option.
Important Dates and Deadlines
- November 16, 2020: Final (NO EXTENSIONS) submission deadline
- December 7, 2020: Decision notification to authors
- February 1-4, 2021: Conference Dates
